We are looking for PhD students in AI. Our research asks how AI systems can remain reliable when assumptions break. The research themes on the home page give an overview of what we work on.

How to apply

There are two routes, and you can use either:

  • ELLIS PhD Program: apply at apply.ellis.eu by October 31, 2026 and select Aleksandar Bojchevski as a potential advisor.
  • Directly: send a single PDF (no external links) to Aleksandar Bojchevski via with the subject line [PhD], including your CV, transcripts of records, the abstract of your Master’s thesis, and a list of publications if available. Direct applications are considered as they arrive, until the positions are filled.
Your profile
  • A Master’s (or equivalent) degree in computer science or a closely related field
  • A solid mathematical foundation (probability, statistics, linear algebra)
  • Experience with machine learning and Python/PyTorch is a plus
What we offer

Fully funded positions with full benefits, paid according to the collective agreement TV-L, pay group E13 (100%). The starting date is flexible.
